My Equipment
My Equipment
I have a range of professional equipment to suit virtually any environment, including lights, stands, PA speakers, mixers, balanced cables, microphones, etc. See my equipment gallery for a few examples.
I use a laptop in conjunction with the Numark DDS 80 system, so there is always a backup system on hand. However, my system is modular, and I am completely adaptable, so I can bring just a laptop, controllers and hard drives, and fit into the smallest sized venues. This also means that, where possible, I can travel to gigs by bike, bus - or even by walking!
I am looking to provide as much of an environmentally DJ service as possible, and am always keen to try out new set-ups and possibilities.
I have an enormous collection of music spread across two 1TB hard drives, and have something for any occasion. I am happy for audience members to bring me their music - I can usually plug in anything with a USB lead (iPods, mp3 players, hard drives, USB sticks, etc.), and I can also use CDs and DVDs. Due to the extra space and power consumption involved, I do not bring vinyl turntables (or cassette players) to gigs - but I can on request. Of course, if it is a themed gig, those who bring music will need to stick to the theme as well!
I use a Kaoss KP3 Effect pad and a Roland SP555 sampler, allowing me to manipulate the music subtly or dramatically, and also throw in vocal samples (often for comedic effect).
